WHAT IS LOW VISION

When a person is unable to see objects beyond a maximum of 3m or 10ft distance with their spectacles or persons who have reduced side vision leading to diificulty in getting about then the person is said to have low vision.

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF LOW VISION

Common causes are:

  1. Age Related Diabetic Retinopathy
  2. Diabetic Retinopathy
  3. Hereditary conditions
  4. Glaucoma
  5. Optic nerve diseases

WHAT ARE LOW VISUAL AIDS

These are optical devices which make most of the available vision in persons with low vision. They are task specific.
